MONARK is a multi use butterfly tool used to aid skateboarders tighten their bolts.
DRAWINGS
The idea from this product came from the traditional balisong knife and how fun, yet dangerous it was to play with. Instead of using a dull training blade, Monark utilizes a wrench to help tighten bolts and open bottles.
LASER CUT PROTOTYPE
This prototype was made from laser cutting acrylic sheets. The wrench obviously didn't work, but the dimensions were perfect for flipping and twirling the tool.
3D PRINTED PROTOTYPE
This prototype was made from 3D printed PLA. Although more durable than the laser cut prototype, this tool was not ready to be used on actual bolts. Stay tuned to see my next prototype: CNC stainless steel.
